The Goldman Honors Program in Environmental Science, Technology and Policy brings undergraduate students from the Schools of Humanities and Sciences, Engineering, and Earth Sciences together into small group seminars to analyze important environmental problems. The program combines a year-long research seminar that builds on prerequisite course work, the preparation of an honors thesis by each student, an oral presentation of honors research and, where relevant, field study related to the central problem under discussion. Independent, self-directed work with a thesis advisor is paramount to the successful completion of the program. Students will receive 3 units per quarter of active participation in the Honors Program (minimum of 9 units; maximum of 15 units), granted and graded at the time of thesis completion and acceptance. The thesis will be certified by the Interschool Faculty Committee for the program. Students are admitted to the program on a competitive basis.
