Humans have the power to create--as well as to solve--global-scale problems. More than six billion people are now demanding higher standards of living. They are using available technologies to fuel that growth; but, as a result, they are posing threats to resource availability, air and water quality, and critical habitat. Analysis and outreach will be required to promote the transition to a more equitable, efficient, and environmentally safer world. Helping to understand and manage this transition is the primary goal of the faculty, staff and students of the Center for Environmental Science and Policy.
